Deleting a branch is permanent. Although the deleted branch may continue to exist for a short time before it actually gets removed, it CANNOT be undone in most cases. Continue?
Videos appear to occasionally only play on a few clients. Since they usually end up showing the last few frames of video just fine, it's possible this is a sync issue as well. Perhaps not syncing so aggressively, or at all, might fix the issue.
Then again, it could be that YouTube doesn't like when people use yt-dlp to watch videos and they are throttling it somewhat when one IP address attempts to download the same video four times. Less likely to be the core issue, but worth considering.
This is really starting to look like a bug involving yt-dlp, and is unlikely to occur during gameplay. I will keep this open until I'm sure, but I think it's worth attempting a proper playthrough with multiple people on different networks to be sure.
Having tested this with self-hosted videos, the problem does appear to be an issue with videos using yt-dlp for playback, i.e. YouTube. Further testing may be needed in the future, and only a playtest with multiple players in different regions will be able to tell for sure, but for now this issue is closed.
Never mind, I guess.
Okay, this might have actually been fixed. The issue seems to be the sync system for videos, which just causes them to freeze up on occasion for some reason. Eliminating that causes videos to play a couple seconds out of sync on occasion, but they do end up playing based on current tests. I will continue to keep an eye on this.
I'm going to call this fixed now. Neither self-hosted videos nor YouTube videos seem to be doing this any more. This will most certainly change once this issue is closed and I look away for 3 seconds, but I'm okay with that.
